JUST GIVE UP!

This is a generation of instant gratification, where waiting and perseverance are nothing but negligible concepts. We're living in an age where giving up is the norm and hard work is a rare talent. I myself can't even tell you how many times I'd wanted to give up in the past... and even right now.

Life will always find something to throw at you, a pebble, a stone, a rock, a boulder; eventually, a whole wall. A wall of hopelessness and negativity, a wall that will prevent you from seeing that something is worth hoping and fighting for. A wall of "What if's?"

So go ahead, give up! Give up because it's not that important to you. Give up because all those hours, days, weeks, months, and years of perseverance are only supposed to go down the drain because times are hard. Give up because you have the right to do so. Give up.Then watch your life after stopping at that moment. Take a look at what you have gained and lost because you chose to surrender to it all. Have you gained what you were hoping for or did you lose so much more? If it's the previous, will you please tell me how you did it so that I can also give everything up? I'm tired, you see. If it's the latter, then fight with me.

No war is easy. No carnage is bloodless. You get wounded because you fight, because you care, because you don't want your life to just be black and white... but a vibrant of colors. You have to be carved, molded, burned, tested, and pressured to become something NEW; something BETTER. You have to endure and overcome pain to understand and value love, joy, and peace.

So, GIVE UP or GIVE UP ON GIVING UP? Your move.

One Who Overcomes (Phil Wickham)

When we were trapped within our sin
When we trusted ourselves
When we were blinded by our shame and guilt
Overwhelmed

When we were searching for our worth
You died and gave yourself
You rose and brought a hope so real
And we're overwhelmed

We sing to the One who overcomes
To the One who saves us from our sin
And heals what's broken
Sing to the One who rescues all
We will trust a love so perfectly
Complete in Him

We live within a world that fails
With pain we can't control
You sustain us with a love that knows
And we're overwhelmed

We sing for the rescue He's brought us
We sing for the kingdom right here
We sing for the hope in redemption
He has overcome, He has overcome

He has overcome, He has overcome
He has overcome, He has overcome

To No Particular Girl

Whenever I see you, I’m torn between closing my eyes and opening them.
I can’t look at you without risking an erratic heartbeat,
But I need to see you to remember one of the reasons why I’m blessed;
Why my life makes sense.

Whenever I sneak a peek at you while you’re busy flipping through a paperback,
I do my best to avoid walking towards you and asking what the book is about.
I want us to have a conversation not because we like the same literature genre,
But because I want to learn about you; what you love and what you enjoy exploring.

Whenever I hear you laugh, it takes a lot to contain my own laughter.
I want to laugh with you because I also want you to see that I am happy.
I simply am happy to be near you.
I’d laugh with you ‘til it's difficult to breathe.

Whenever I see you cry, I also take a beating.
When you lean on me for strength, it’s bittersweet.
I don’t want you to lose yourself in sorrow,
But I also don’t want you to stop resting in my arms, seeking comfort and security.

Whenever I’m with you, I remember why sharing your heart with someone is worth it.
I know we don’t forget our troubles, but we can face them together.
Whenever you’re with me, I thank God because you are.
Whenever my hands grasp yours, you’re not the only one who feels loved and protected.
We share those feelings and I sure am glad that we do.
